BUY Synta Pharmaceuticals(Nasdaq: SNTA) up to $13.00.

Synta Pharmaceuticals’ elesclomol, a novel treatment for late stage melanoma, is currently in phase III trials. There are currently no approved drugs for late stage melanoma, so if elesclomol is approved, SNTA will have the market to itself.

If the drug is effective in melanoma, it’s quite possible it will work in other difficult to treat cancers as well.

We believe SNTA has similarities to Celgene (Nasdaq: CELG), a biotech company that went from a market cap of $103 million to over $34 billion in ten years.
