** Manic Monday

This morning, JP Morgan upgraded shares of Lexar (Nasdaq: LEXR). That was good for a 20% move in the shares, on top of a 10% move last week on the heels of the courts ruling that LEXR was indeed entitled to the massive half-billion dollar award from Toshiba. Of course, just because Lexar is entitled to the award, it must still await the results of the appeals process.

In other news last week, Lexar expanded a cross-licensing agreement with Sony Corp. If our LEXR spread were to expire today, we would make more than 200% on this position. However, we have some time to go on this play. I may close it out early if the shares break higher and the premium is reduced on the $7.50 call option – which makes up the higher half of our bull spread.

Also, Google announced today that it will have a press conference tomorrow with one of our other holdings, Sun Microsystems (SUNW), to discuss future collaboration. The shares are up nicely on this announcement, and tomorrow should be interesting.

Microsoft rallied nicely last week, immediately taking our 2008 options higher. These calls – the January 2008 $30 calls (WMF-AF) – are undervalued, and if you do not own them, you should establish a position at these levels.
