** Position Update

Our open LEAPS positions have had a nice run recently.

Comcast shares are nearing new highs, and our options are up 15% with lots of time left. Our Anglogold Ashanti position was extremely strong last week as the price of gold moved up sharply. We are up 20% on this position which is down slightly this week.

If we get a move in the share price by another 5% to 10% in the coming weeks, it will make a prime candidate for another bull spread.

Our GE calls are also moving up nicely. While still lower then our entry price, they are well up from the lows and once again we have a ton of time on our side.

Our Daimler Chrysler puts are still hanging on. What is surprising here is that the two other big automakers, Ford and GM, are hitting news lows, while DCX is holding up well. We will need a break under $44 for this one to really pick up steam. The continuing high oil prices and increasing interest rates/declining dollar do not bode well for DCX.

Last quarter they announced significantly lower profits from their ultra-profitable Mercedes car division. I expect that competition from the other automakers this year, in light of the overall slowdown in new car sales that is materializing, will put a damper on DCX’s share price. Regardless, keep a close eye on your stops for this one.

Finally, our crude oil short using the XLE is acting very favorably. Last week we saw the options move more than 30% higher – from $2.30 on the offer to over $3 on the offer – on a 5% move down in oil prices. This shows the excellent correlation between the XLE and crude prices. I am quite confident that oil prices are higher on speculation so this pick remains a buy under $2.45 (ORJ MM).

I will be monitoring this position closely and do not be surprised if I eliminate the sell-stop if we get a violent upside move – in fact we may average down if that happens.

Our remaing bull-spread positions in CHK, INTC and IACI remain extremely profitable and it is just a matter of time before we bank the monstrous profits on these trades.

Regards,

Karim Rahemtulla
